Let's Vision 2025: Showcasing The Green Spurt in Shanghai

When we set out to choose which conferences to attend this year, one stood out above the rest – Let's Vision – a conference focused on the Apple ecosystem, taking place in China.
Cristian attended last year as a speaker (you can check out his talk – Accessible Spatial Computing – on Youtube) and couldn’t stop telling me about how well-organized it was and how incredible the community felt.
After speaking with the organizers and sharing The Green Spurt teaser, we were excited to receive an invitation to showcase our game in a booth. The reality is that exhibiting takes a lot of effort, but this was the perfect opportunity to put our game in front of an engaged audience and gather feedback, so of course, we took it!
With over 3000 attendees, this one was one to remember! 🎉

Designing the Booth
Once we got confirmed as exhibitors, we started thinking about the booth experience.
Cristian came up with a few really cool designs, and to better visualize our options, he created USDZ files of the different setups.

Using our Apple Vision Pros, we placed these designs in real-world scale, allowing us to walk around and experience the layout before making a final decision.
This not only helped us decide on the design and the activities, but also determine what additional equipment to rent for the booth.
The Conference Experience
From Berlin and Dubai, we landed in Shanghai.
Activities kicked of on Friday with Media Day, followed by a visit to the Apple Developer Center - a first-time experience for me. As an Apple developer, this was definitely a very cool moment, and I hope to visit all of them one day.
There were a couple of presentations about the conference and developer initiatives in the region, and we even had a chance to introduce ourselves. It was a great networking moment that set the tone for the days ahead.

The conference took place over the weekend at a beautiful location called Flower Port, known for its tulip gardens. The mix of indoor and outdoor booths created a great atmosphere, and we were lucky to have amazing weather throughout the event.
The most incredible part of this experience was all the people we met! Grateful for the memories, the friendships, and the vision that we share! ♾️ 🧡

Running the Demos
With past experience from other conferences, we already had a structured demo process in place. However, managing guest sessions was still a challenge.
The great news is that visionOS 2.4 (already available in Beta) brings new enhancements to Guest User sessions! 🎉
Our Guest User flow looked something like this:
- View Mirroring: Connect the Apple Vision Pro to an Apple TV or MacBook so we can guide the guests as needed.
- Guest User setup: Start a Guest User session and select the apps to be accessible (in this case it was The Green Spurt app only) and remove the device.
- Guest User experience: Pass the device to the guest to put it on and go through the eye and hand setup first, then open and play the game.
The problem with this flow was primarily in Step 3. Due to the guests readjusting the device, the Guest User session would occasionally disconnect, creating a situation where we would have to take the device and go back to Step 2 again.
We have seen other exhibitors completely skipping the Guest User session and the eye and hand setup for a faster experience. While this may be fine in some cases, we believe a personalized setup makes a big difference. The precision and responsiveness of the eye and hand tracking is one of the things that make the device feel magical. On top of this, the setup serves as an onboarding experience for new users.

With new enhancements to Guest User in visionOS 2.4, users can start a Guest User session with their nearby iPhone or iPad. When their device is unlocked, they can choose which apps are accessible to their guest and start View Mirroring with AirPlay, making it easy to guide a guest through their Vision Pro experience. – Apple Newsroom
We already tested these updates in Beta, and it is a much better experience! 🙌
If only we had gotten this update three days earlier. 😅

Key Takeaways for Our Game
One major realization was that less is more. Initially, we designed the experience with a complex layer of decoy and extra narrative elements, much like a real escape room. However, in this setting, those elements only create unnecessary complexity. Players are still getting used to Apple Vision Pro experiences, so simplifying the game improves playability.
We also saw strong interest in shared experiences. Whenever we mentioned that our game was designed for collaborative play, it resonated with people. This reinforced our belief that social gameplay will be a major driver for spatial computing experiences.
Another takeaway was the need for a clearer in-game glossary. We’ve built a rich world with deep lore, but some of our in-world terminology was confusing for first-time players. We plan to simplify language and introduce a glossary to improve accessibility.
One More Thing
The day after the conference, there was a Let's Vision satellite event at the AI Hacker House in the Shanghai Caohejing Development Zone, where we had the opportunity to give a session about the process of designing and developing The Green Spurt game.
The talk is available on Youtube, if you would like to check it out:
Final Thoughts
The conference confirmed that we’re on the right track and that we have a creative format for immersive storytelling.
We received fantastic insights from award-winning game developers – Ryan from Blackbox and Doug and Michael from THRASHER – who provided us feedback that immediately became part of our post-conference roadmap.
We had a great experience at Let's Vision and would highly recommend it to others. Special thanks to the organizers for all the hard work that went into putting this community event together. 👏 We are looking forward to future editions!
The Beta release is now available and you can register your interest for early access here.
With immersive regards from my digital persona!
